The ratio of 5 kilograms to 1 kilogram is 5 to 1 (or 5/1). As a result, we can take the 11 1/4 lbs for 5 kilograms and divide by 5 (or multiply by 1/5) to find the weight of 1 kilogram:
11 1/4 can be written as an improper fraction as 45/4
Then 45/4 divided by 5 can be written as: 45/4 * 1/5
This is equivalent to 45/20 or 9/4 lbs.
9/4 lbs is equivalent to 2 1/4 lbs for the 1 kilogram bag.
