You have enough information to come up with the linear equation. Based on these 2 equations, you have 2 points on the line: (0,4) and (3,-8) Using these 2 points, you can find the slope using the equation m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) Once you have the slope, you can use this to find the equation of the line: y − y1 = m(x − x1) by plugging in m and one of the points provided.
m=(4-(-8))/(1-3) = 12/-3 = -4
y-4 = -4(x-0) Simplify
y-4=-4x Add 4 to both sides
y=-4x+4 can also be written as
f(x)=-4x+4
