Anonymous, here’s how Celeste and Sam got the answer:
first, you want to get all the x’s on one side of the equals sign., and the rest on the other side.
So add y to both sides
7x-y+y = 14+y
Simplify this
7x = 14 + y
Next, to move the 7 out of the way, divide both sides by 7.
x = (14 + y)/7
