Let's rearrange the equation 2x+5y=4 to look more like y=mx+b.
2x+5y=4
5y=4-2x
y=(4-2x)/5
y=(4/5)-(2/5)x
So we see that the slope is -2/5.
Using the point (4,4) we can plug those numbers into the equation above, but not including the 4/5, because that b value is specific for the original equation, and we will solve for b.
So,
4=b-(2/5)(4)
4=b-1.6
b=5.6
The equation will be : y=(=2/5)x+5.6
