Math and science made easy - learn from a retired engineer
Let "n" be the number of nights we stay at the hotel and let "d" be the total dollars it costs. Then d = 5 + 55n (if n = 1, the total cost d is $60, if n = 2, the cost is $115, etc.)
To find n (the number of days) when d is 390 we just plug in 390 for d. So:
390 = 5 + 55n
385 = 55n
n = 385/55 = 7
