Impossible to say without more information. You say you need to take out all 96 pairs in an hour, but that doesn't mean that each pair must be taken out at the same rate. For instance, if these boxes are difficult to open, it may take something like 6 minutes just to open up the first box. In that 6-minute span, NO pairs of shoes will have been removed. But once opened, it may only take 1.5 minutes to remove all 12 pairs within. If the other boxes are emptied out similarly, the job would be done in an hour, but the answer as to how long it would take to remove just 1 pair in that case would be a number of minutes greater than 6.

- 8 boxes * 12 pairs per box = 96 pairs
- 96 pairs per hour = 96 pairs / 1 hour
- = 96 pairs / 60 minutes
- = 1.6 pairs per minute
- Time needed ...
- Minutes = 60 minutes / 96 pairs
- = 0.625 minutes per pair, or 5/8 of 1 minute, per pair
- Seconds = (60 seconds per minute) * (60 minutes per hour)
- (60 seconds * 60 minutes) / 96 pairs
- = 3,600 seconds / 96 pairs
- = 37.5 seconds / pair
