Math and science made easy - learn from a retired engineer
If "n" is the number of students on a bus, then 8n is the number of students on 8 buses and 8n + 6 is the total number of students who went. So an equation that models this is:
8n + 6 = 334
To solve, subtract 6 from both sides to get:
8n = 328
Then divide both sides by 8 to get:
n = 41
There are 41 students on each bus.
