Parallel lines have equal slopes but different y-intercepts. So if you can get the equation in slope intercept form, all you have to do is change the y-intercept and you will have a parallel line! In this case, it asks for any linear equation, so an example would be y = 3x +2. Another example would be y = 3x - 14. Any equation works as long as the slope is the same and the y-intercept is different than the given equation.
