The equation would be :
x + 44 = 79
You can solve this equation using inverse operation. Subtract 44 from both sides of the equation:
x + 44 - 44 = 79 - 44
x = 35 branches in the San Diego library
You could also write 79 - x = 44 and solve and get the same result.
