Since all of the terms on the left side of the equation have a variable, c, we can combine like terms by adding 1c +1/4c+1/2c:
1 + 1/4 + 1/2 = 1 and 3/4 OR 7/4
We can rewrite the equation as 7/4 c = 14
Using inverse operations to solve, multiply both sides of the equation by the reciprocal of 7/4:
4/7 * 7/4 c = 14* 4/7
Then c = 8
Note: 14 * 4/7 is equivalent to 8
