I have a strong doubt about this question, and don't want to cheat by googling or wiking it; I'd say 70%, but this reply is based on my perception that the Porfiriato is used as an all-out-evil to explain why the Mexican Revolution was necessary, inevitable, and therefore, so was the rule of the PRI, the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (for almost 80 years of non-stop propaganda). Porfirio Diaz did a lot for women's education, and also to allow them to work as rural teachers, which was a very modern concept back then in Mexico. I remain ignorant of the answer to this question. I'd just be very careful with the information provided in official Mexican textbooks, and double-check it against other sources.
