Social media promotion can be an effective complement to your overall marketing mix. However, you must put pen to paper on what you metrics expect to get. Determine the resources needed (people and budgets) to achieve a 10X return on your investment. A few questions to ask yourself:
*Who is your audience that you are targeting?
*Are they on that particular platform? For example, Facebook offers robust advertising targeting, but if your audience demographics trend young, you are wasting time and resources.
*Have you created a compelling content calendar to engage and nurture your audience over a time period? A one-and-done campaign will not help you achieve engagement.
*Is the message relevant and appropriate? Make sure you pause and reflect before deploying campaigns. During the pandemic and unrest within our communities, you must scrutinize every campaign. Just because some messaging may have resonated yesterday, doesn't mean that it will be well-received today. Test and learn has never been more important!
The above list is just a start to determining what your social promotion strategy and executional initiatives should accomplish. Hope that gives you good insight to ponder!
