What we have here is a ratio problem:
45/6 = x/10
Multiply both sides by 10:
45 * 10/6 = x
10 and 6 have a 2 in common, so those can be factored out:
45 * 5/3 = x
45 and 3 have a 3 in common, so those too can be factored out:
15 * 5 = x
75 pieces are to be expected.
