Subtract 1 from both sides:
-2 - 1 = x/4 + 1 - 1
-3 = x/4
Multiply both sides by 4:
-3 * 4 = x/4 * 4
-12 = x

Hello. -2=X/(4+1)
-2=X/5
-2=-10/5
So X=-10
So X equals minus 10.
