Question

Show that has a jump discontinuity at by calculating the limit as approaches 5 from the left and from the right. (piecewise function I don't know how to do the parenthesis things on here)

f(x)= 6x−3 if x<5

1/x+5 if x≥5

Lim f(x)=

x->5^-

Lim f(x) =

x->5^+

Note: the pieces are continuous except at x=5 (and x=-5 for the fractuion which is not in the domain of the fractional part!)
