asked 09/20/19I need to know where to put parentheses to get 10 in this problem
5 + 3 x 16 / 12 - 7 = 10
/ = division

Hard question. Just try a few different ways. I tried a few and nothing gets 10.
8x16=128/12 or 128/5 don't work. Next is 53/12 or 53/5. They don't work.
IF there's another possibility, I don't see it. But who knows. Math has paradoxes and puzzles that even major mathematicians can't agree on or solve. Still this looks like a simple problem. So do many math paradoxes.
