A rectangular room is 4 times as long as it is wide, and its perimeter is 60 meters. Find the dimension of the room
Set it up as an equation using the perimeter formula (2L + 2W)
We know from the sentence that length is 4 times width so L = 4W
Plug that into the formula and solve for W
2(4W) + 2W = 60
Solve for W and plug that number back into the original problem to find the length. Check the answers.
