Do you have tutors that are skilled in teaching Dyslexia children in math?

Hi there! I have been teaching math to children diagnosed with dyslexia for years! I’m not sure where you’re located or what type of tutoring your interested in so I can’t just offer myself but I can’t give you a few pointers :)

Look for someone who enjoys and knows how to work with manipulatives! Using their hands helps them build more connections to the content.

Depending on severity, there are some math programs better suited than others. You want to lean towards more tactile than worksheet based.

Dyslexia is a spectrum and it’s important that your tutor understands that! Using multiplication charts or fact sheets may be needed to help your child build skills while still learning third math facts. In short, dyslexia isn’t just about mixing up b and d, it can be based in math or reading or both!
