So we need to isolate z. Let's start by distributing that -p:
-pd - pz = -2z + 59
Subtract 59 from both sides:
-pd - pz - 59 = -2z
Add pz to both sides:
-pd - 59 = pz - 2z
Factor out z:
-pd - 59 = z(p - 2)
Divide both sides by p - 2:
-pd - 59/p - 2 = z
While that works, some people might not like how the numerator has everything negative. You can factor out a -1 from it to give you the following possibility:
- pd + 59/p - 2 = z
