A. When we subtract the actual temperature of the incubator, it must be less than or equal to 5. So our equation will look like this:
| 85 - T | ≤ 5 Where T is the temperature
B. To solve an absolute value equation we will have two different equations:
85 - T ≤ 5 And. 85 - T ≥ -5
-85. -85. -85. -85
-T ≤ -80 -T ≥ -90
÷-1 ÷-1 ÷-1 ÷-1
T ≥ 80 T ≤ 90
so from our answer we can see that T has to be greater than or equal to 80 but less than or equal to 90. This means we are responsible for keeping the temperature between the levels of 80 and 90 degrees.
