To find the intercepts of any standard equation (Ax + By = C), all you need to do is set up two separate one step equations:
For the x intercept, you only need your x component, like so:
5x + 2y = 20
5x = 20
The y component simply vanishes (technically you are multiplying it by zero, but we will skip that part for the moment). Just solve, and your answer is your x-intercept.
The y intercept is solved the exact same way, but using your y component, instead of the x.
5x + 2y = 20
2y = 20
