Rotating a point - 180 degrees is equivalent to rotating 180 degrees because you can add or subtract 360 degrees to any rotation to get an equivalent rotation.
NUMERICAL APPROACH: Performing a 180 rotation on the point (x,y), gives you the point (-x,-y). In this case, we obtain (-1, 2).
GRAPHICAL APPROACH: To perform a 180 rotation around the origin ( that is to say: the point (0,0)) is to draw a line segment connecting the origin and the point we are rotating, in this case (1,-2). Then extend the line segment in the opposite direction of the origin, by the same distance. We end up at the point (-1,2).
