Breaking down the 4 into the factors:
8 * 2 + 8 * 2 → 16 + 16 = 32
Going to 5 because that's easier to remember, then subtracting from that:
8 * 5 = 40, 40 - 8 = 32
Anyways, we now have 32. Now you just need to add 2 to that:
32 + 2 = 34
