Express the model to actual as a ratio with proper units, for example;

1:10 can be expressed as 1/10 when comparing the two cases, use units, for example

1inch model/10 inches actual = 18.5 inch model/x inches actual where x is the actual car length

Solving for x: x = (18.5)(10)/1 = 185 inches
