if the answer is a^2+ab+b^2=0, leave it like this
look up the "Binomial Expansion" and see how the terms are arranged and this should help you

asked 08/17/19In the case of an equation having two variables and the final answer have terms and kind of looks like this equation: a2 + ab + b2 =0 , how do you rearrange them properly the traditional way? What are the rules? Should it be a2 + b2 + ab =0 since b2 has a higher exponential count or should it be the equation above since a (in ab) is first in the alphabetical arrangement than b (in b2). Thank you in advance.

If a and b are both variables, then that equation cannot be solved. Therefore it might not matter how it is arranged!!
