Why might you want to use the commutative property to change the order of the integers in the following sum before adding.

It has to do with grouping of information:
when I see sums like 7 + 9+1+11+3+5+4
I like to group in tens...
(9+1) +(7+3)+(5+4+11) and see I have 40 as the sum...
If we were Zorastrians, we would want to group integers into piles of 60 ; we do that with seconds and minutes.
