The slope of a line can be calculated by the equation m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1). This means we can assign either point as the first point and the other one is the second point. For this problem, lets say our first point is (-3, -5) and the second point is (0, 10). We can plug these values into the equation.
m=(10-(-5))/(0-(-3))=(10+5)/(0+3) because subtracting a negative is the same as adding a positive.
m=15/3
m=5
Therefore, the slope of the line passing through the points (-3, -5) and (0, 10) is 5.
