3/4 divided by 12 = 1/16
You can convert division into multiplication by inverting the divisor
3/4 divided by 12 is the same as 3/4 times 1/12 which equals 3/(4)(12) = 3/48 = 1/16
when you multiply 2 fractions, just multiply the numerators together to get the new numerator 3x1=3
and multiply the two denominators together to get 4x12=48
You could also cancel 3 out of both numerator and denominate making 3/(4)(12) into 1/(4)(4)=1/16
