During a week, a city had an day's average temperature of 75 F°. Temperatures for the first three days were 62 F°, 83 F and 76 F°, respectively. What was the average temperature for the other 4 days?
Let the temperatures for the 7 days be A,B,C,D,E,F,G.
The average for the week was (A+B+C+D+E+F+G) / 7 = 75
A+B+C+D+E+F+G = 7*75
A+B+C+D+E+F+G = 525
Temperatures for the first three days are given:
62+83+76+D+E+F+G = 525
D+E+F+G = 525 - 62 - 83 - 76
D + E + F + G = 304
The average for the first 4 days is: (D+E+F+G) / 4
So, divide both sides by 4:
(D+E+F+G) / 4 = 304 / 4
(D+E+F+G) / 4 = 76
The average temperature for the last four days was 76°F.

(7)(75) = 525
62 + 83 + 76 = 221
525 - 221 = 304
304 / 4 = 76
