I do not usually look at questions already answered by another tutor. In this case I was curious to see what Patrick had said. I think I have something useful to add.
This is a very good example of very bad mathematical notation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the problem statement asks "20 divided by the product of 5(1+3)"...so I disagree with Patrick and think the answer is 1."
However, the REAL answer is to write mathematical expressions unequivocally, using parentheses to make the order of operations clear and unequivocal!
