I have leaned that having a broken bone can induce a huge amount of stress on that area of the body, as well as other areas that may overcompensate for the injury. When somebody breaks a bone, it is important to understand the type of break, because this will determine the amount of therapy and heeling that will be needed throughout recovery. For example, a hairline fracture ( thin fracture to a bone) is very different from a compound fracture (complete break that often penetrates the skin. The recovery time and steps in the process to recovery is all based on the severity of the injury at hand. The body is a system of parts that work together, often times picking up the slack for un injured area that is incapable of functioning normally because of an injury or outside stress. Having said that, it is important to isolate the injury and work with trained professionals to avoid causing other injuries down the road.
