I would like to understand how to multiply..

3x^2-2xy+2y^2

x-y

Ad, under x-y it would be a line..

Multiply X with each term in top row and place resulting term under the line

^{Then multiply —Y with each of the term in top raw placing similar terms one below another}

. For example —2X^2Y will be placed below —3X^2Y and 2XY^2 below 2XY^2.

In the last row which is your answer, place terms, which are by themselves, the 

the way they are and sum up the terms which are similar

3X^2–2XY+2Y^2
