Premier professional teacher--results immediately apparent.
Jiang's "problems" were insurmountable. For one thing, he was corrupt, and heavily allied with Triads (organized crime), like the Green Gang of Shanghai. That legacy fully carried over to Taiwan in 1949, and even remained in Hong Kong until 1997.
For another, he was verrrrrrrrry Mean to Mao, beginning with the shocking 1927 Shanghai Massacre, and ending with Jiang's utter alienation of the Chinese Peasants in 1949. It was their massive uprising that effectively pushed the Kuomintang (J's Nationalists) off the Mainland (with a little secret help from the US State Department).
P.S. If my parenthetical point surprises you, consider this: During WW II, when the US discovered that Jiang and his men were NOT using the weapons sent them by Washington, guess who Washington began to supply? You guessed it--Mao and the Reds, who fought the Japanese like tigers. Meanwhile, Jiang & Company bided their time, waiting for the war to end, and then "fight the real fight against Mao and the Reds." Sooooo many mistakes committed by Jiang...
