The average rate of change is also the slope. Therefore, if we find the slope, we also find the rate of change.
The slope can be calculated as:
m = (y2- y1)/(x2- x1)
where m is slope, x2 is the second x value, x1 is the first x value, y2 is the second y value, and y1 is the first y value. When we substitute these into the equation, we have:
m = (8-0)/(120-100) = 8/100 = 0.08
Therefore the rate of change is 0.08.
