Many Algebra word problems can be broken into key pieces of information that can then be translated into equations. For example. Total cost of 5 chairs, and 3 tables is $33, can be written as 5c + 3t = 33, where c is the cost of 1 chair rental, and t is the cost of 1 table rental. You can go two ways from here. 1) figure out the cost of a single table, based on the 2nd clue, cost of 2 tables to rent is $105, or 2) write another equation based on the clue, either way you can then use the substitution method of solving systems of equations to find cost of each!
