I keep running into this debate with my thesis advisor. Are both of these forms correct?> It can be seen that *both the* users> are able to...or> It can be seen that *the both* users> are able to...

Hi! Actually, neither option is ideal for writing. "Both the users" is acceptable while speaking, but "the both users" isn't correct in either spoken or written grammar.

You can either say "both of the users" or "both users (no "the")".
