Remember the order of operations rule PEMDAS: Parentheses, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction.
You have ave to do everything inside each parentheses first. Do all exponents. Then do multiplication or division, going left to right. Then do addition and subtraction.
After you have combined all the like terms inside the parentheses, THEN you drop the parentheses and combine. Or, in this instance, you multiply the two answers in parentheses together.
Hint: You’re going to end up with a polynomial. 😉
