These problems are a little tricky until you get the hang of them. These English words actually translate to mathematical symbols.
So to start, "six less than the product" means that I am subtracting 6 from the product. "Product" means multiplication. "Is no more than" means this is an inequality with a max of 97, i.e., ≤ 97. Putting this all together, we have
n(1/4) - 6 ≤ 97
n/4 - 6 ≤ 97
n/4 ≤ 103
n ≤ 103(4)
n ≤ 412
Hence, your number is not allowed to be greater than 412. Anything that is 412 or below is completely fine!
