Digital Artist Specializing in Motion Graphics and Video Editing
Check out Adobe After Effects. It can take sequenced frames in a variety of formats. I have not had any luck with Premiere doing this so I don't think that option is available.
AE can also do batch renders and handles audio tracks. The software is used mainly for comping layers of a scene and rendering out final look. Also used for effects and motion graphics as well as animation.
Premiere is where you edit shots and render out a movie.
Both programs are cross platform.
I have done renders on a PC as an avi and then converted that as an mp4 or mov using a small converting program called Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate.
Hope this helps
