I am a firm believer that (hard work + persistence = success).
Use inverse operation to rearrange the equation so that h is isolated on one side of the equal sign.
2h + 8 = m
Subtract 8 on both sides and simplify(You subtract because you eliminate the positve 8 on the left side of (=)).
2h + 8 - 8 = m - 8
2h = m - 8
In the next step divide both sides by 2 and simplify (2h = 2 x h, which means the operation that relates the 2 and h to each other is multiplication. In order to undo this you have to perform the inverse operation which is division)
2h/2 = (m - 8)/2
h = m/2 - 8/2
Simplify
h = (1/2)m - 4
