Dawn, this is actually fairly simple. Just plug in 4 or -4 for each x.

 

Let's start with 4.

 

2(4)²- 3(4) + 7

 

It is important to note that the "squared" only applies to x and not the entire term!

 

2(16) - 12 + 7 = 32 - 12 + 7 = 27

 

Now, -4.

 

2(-4)² - 3(-4) + 7

2(16) + 12 + 7 = 32 + 12 + 7 = 51.
