Ok the first step is to define variables:
x = children
y = adult
next you can write equations from the facts that you are given:
5.9x + 9.1y = 962.8
y = 3x
now you can use either substitution or elimination to solve. I recommend substitution.
5.9x + 9.1(3x) = 962.8
5.9x + 27.3x = 962.8
33.2x = 962.8
x = 29 --> 29 children's tickets
y = 3(29)
y = 87 --> 87 adult tickets
