How many different palettes can you make if a palette has 3 shades of each of blue, green, and orange, and the 3 shades of each color must be grouped together?

Because you have to use all three colors and one of each color the problem uses the simple counting rule. The total number of possible combinations is the product of the number of possibilities for each color. So the answer is 10 x 8 x 6 = 480 different palettes.
