The key to solving this easily is to ask yourself how many 45 degree (= π/4) sectors reside in the circle?
360 / 45 = 8 ⇒ 8*13.75π = 110π cm2
Alternatively, noting that the entire circle has 360 degress, you can set up a ratio:
A / (2π) = (13.75π) / (π/4)
A = (2π) * (13.75π) / (π/4) = 110π cm2
