Find the mean of the following numbers:24,65,25,24, and 28. Then eliminate the largest value and find the mean of the remaining numbers

You have 5 numbers.  To get the mean (average), add all five numbers together and divide the sum by 5.

 

The largest valued of the 5 numbers is 65.  If you eliminate that number, you have 4 numbers left.  Add the 4 numbers together and divide the sum by 4 to get the mean or average.
