Right triangle problem
draw a picture, draw a horizontal line at the top of your light house, angle of depression starts at the line then goes down to where your water is. This line makes your hypotenuse. But the angle is on the outside of your right triangle.
To solve this problem. 90°-42.3131° will give you the top inside angle.
From there tan(angle)= opposite side/adjacent side
tan(90°-42-3131°)=distance from lighthouse/85ft
distance from light house= 85ft(tan(90°-42.3131))
