When figuring probability, you take the total number of possible outcomes (in this case, 18) and put it on the bottom of your fraction.

Then you take the number of outcomes that are what you want (i this case, 8).

So the original fraction is 8/18. Since 8 and 18 can both be divided by 2, 8/18 can be reduced to 4/9.
