Three individuals form a partnership and agree to divide the profits equally . X invests $9,000, Y invests $7,000 , Z invests $4,000. If the profits are $4,800 , how much less does X receive than if the profits were divided in proportion to the amount invested?

Total Equity invested is 9000 +7000 + 4000 so equity shares are

X= 45% Y=35% and Z= 20% and equity weighted distribution =would give X 45% of the 4800 or 2160. Spit 4800 evenly he gets 1600 the difference is 560. We could also write this as

Difference = (equal weight -equity weight) Income =((1/3)-(45/100)*4800 = ((20/60-27/60) 4800 = -7/60 *4800 = -560
