Solve the equation for y (in other words, turn it into the y = mx + b format). It becomes:
y = -x + 111
Find the slope of this line by finding the coefficient in front of the x. In this case that's -1. The perpendicular line has the slope that is the negative reciprocal. In this case that's 1
