Hannah, here’s a way to think about it.
Pretend for the moment that the answer is 2.
now write down the intervals starting with the lowest number (47). Thus,
47-48, 49-50, etc.
After 10 intervals, have you got an interval for the greatest height (76)? If not, choose a larger interval size. Is there an obvious way to choose an interval size? It is required that each of the height measurements fall into an interval. It is desirable that there aren’t a lot of empty intervals.
